Keepers is Coming!! View this email in your browser We're weeks away from the 9th Annual Keepers of the Flame. This year's Awards Production takes place Friday, November 13, 6pm at the Kaufmann Auditorium. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for youth and are still available at Ujamaa Boutique, King of Kings Salon, and legacyartsproject.org. Follow us on Facebook to get biographical posts of this year's honorees. This year's list of truly amazing honorees joins the ranks of awardees of years past, such as our 2014 honorees: Helen Baynes, Poogie Bell, Chico Butler, Dr. James and Pam Johnson, Dr. Joyce Meggerson-Moore, and William 'Oba' Wells. Many thanks to all of the Keepers honorees, past, present, and future! Keepers 2015/facebook Community Classes Contemporary Dance  Get in touch with your body through breathing exercises that warm us up. Following, we explore deliberate movements that challenge us to understand the wide capabilities of our physical anatomy which all comes together in the fluidity of the collective movement of the participants of the class. Open to adults of all levels of experience. $5/class. @ Sankofa Village for the Arts Wednesdays: 6-7:30pm     Saturdays:     4-5:30pm Youth Ballet Explore the basics of ballet in this introductory class for youth. Jean Paul brings his background in both ballet and contemporary dance to expose the youth to diverse forms of dance.  @ Alloy Studios Mondays: 5:30-7pm Youth reviewing dance etiquette with Jean Paul Weaver. Legacy Arts After School Programming The after school programming of the Legacy Arts Project is in full swing with Primetime in Woodland Hills and Castle in Clairton. Students engage in creative exploration while trying new arts forms, all the while learning that their capabilities exceed what they are even aware of. Many thanks to Saihou Njie for his creativity and knack for working with youth and the Consortium for Public Education for the opportunity to serve the children of the two school districts.
