The Legacy Arts Project: May Events Calendar Happy Spring family and friends! Seems its been a long time coming and it's quite alright. Gives us more to be thankful for! Just two days ago, leaves were budding on trees throughout the neighborhood. The next day, they burst forth in their pronouncement of the season. Kinda like Legacy. We've been tucked away for during those cold months, marinating with ideas and percolating with preparation for these next upcoming months. And we are doing Wellness Work, setting the intention to do-and-be well in our activities, building towards the days when we shall be collectively self-determining. It's coming, but until that time, we have created some programming to work towards individual strength and well-being. Spreading goodness. Won't you join us! Wednesday May 2nd  6:30-7:30pm Interplay w/ Lois "Toni" McClendon Using movement, music, and storytelling to get to the wisdom of the body. Liberation for the mind, body, and spirit. $10 Adults/$5 Youth and Seniors   Saturday May 5th at 6pm Hip Hop Dance w/The Get Down Gang For the b-boy and b-girl in you! Join the dancers of the Get Down Gang and experience the Hip Hop at its core. $10 Adults/$5 Youth and Seniors   May 10th, Special Time: 6-7pm Class also on 5/24 and 5/31 at 6:30-7:30pm Kukuwa African Dance Fitness w/Nicole Shante Travel the African diaspora without a passport while you move to the rhythms of cultures that you may or may not know of. Join us for a NEW African Dance Fitness class in Pittsburgh. $10 Adults/$5 Youth and Seniors   Thursday May 10th 6:30-7:30pm Mind Empowerment w/Angela McClung $10 Adults Thursday May 17th 6:30-8pm Hair Braiding 101 w/Tamiah Bridgett $12 Adults   Saturday May 26th 6-7:30pm Beauty Basics w/Ravin Bean Whether you wear make-up or not, this workshop explores self-identity and the ways that we adorn ourselves as an extension and expression of our creativity.
